I have a Toshiba laptop that has been working OK, but now wont bootup. I was going to try and repair using a Windows 10 installation USB. I have used visk media creation tool on another laptop to create one. The broken laptop will boot to USB and I get the Microsoft logo but after a few seconds the screen nistall goes blank and nothing else happens. Was this reply helpful?

Yes Donwload. Sorry this didn’t 1. Thanks for your feedback. I have used 2 different Downloae pens. Each reae I get the same results. The laptop boots to the USB and the Microsoft logo appears this doesnt happen when it boots to the hard drive – in that case I just get the error.

The Microsoft logo on it’s own appears for a minute or so. Then the spinning dots appears under the logo for about another minute or so, then it just goes to a blank screen.

On some of the attempts I have also double checked by going to the boot order screen during the boot up. This machine was originally running Windows 7 before it was upgraded to WIndows 10 which was some time ago.

Hi, yes i have gone through each of the pages in the BIOS settings and cannot find that setting. On the boot devices the only option is to change the dsik order.

The USB pen does have an indicator which shows it is working. Rfee have just put a image of SparkyLinux on the same pen and the laptop does boot up to that but doesn’t see the hard drive. I had 1 blue screen a week or so before this happened which I assumed was down to the app as I restarted the laptop and everything seemed to work fine for a week and then this happened.
